THE day is finally here. On Friday, Taylor Swift finally unveiled her highly-anticipated new album, The Tortured Poets Department. Touted to be her saddest album yet, the tracklist features 16 songs. Apart from the standard album, Swift is launching four deluxe versions, each including a distinct bonus track including The Manuscript, The Albatross, The Bolter, and The Black Dog

Recently, she hinted at heartbreak being a central theme of the album by unveiling five exclusive playlists on Apple Music, each delving into the five stages of a breakup: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance.

Swift took to her social media account to reveal the official tracklist, sparking intense speculation among fans. Side A comprises Fortnight, The Tortured Poets Department, My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys, and Down Bad

Side B presents So Long, London, But Daddy I Love Him, Fresh Out the Slammer, and Florida!!!. Side C features Guilty as Sin?, Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?, I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can), and loml

The final side boasts I Can Do It With a Broken Heart, The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived, The Alchemy, and Clara Bow Additionally, four bonus tracks are included: The Manuscript, The Bolter, The Albatross, and The Black Dog.

Is The Album About Swift’s Ex Joe Alwyn?

Fans speculate that the forthcoming album will chronicle Swift’s separation from actor Joe Alwyn, her partner of six years before their April 2023 breakup. Song titles hint at the English actor and their past relationship, and Swift recently hinted at the album’s theme of heartbreak by curating five exclusive playlists on Apple Music.

In accordance with a press release, each playlist corresponds to a stage of a breakup: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance, featuring songs from Swift’s own repertoire. Ahead of the April 8 total solar eclipse, Swift teased the album’s first lyric with a video of a typewriter typing, revealing, “Crowd goes wild at her fingertips/Half moonshine, Full eclipse.”
