TAYLOR Swift has finally unveiled her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, which has quite visibly sparked fan intrigue with one prominent song. Titled thanK you aIMee, the 24th track on the album delivers scathing digs aimed at Kim Kardashian.

“There’s a bronze spray-tanned statue of you and a plaque underneath it / That threatens to push me down the stairs, at our school,” Taylor croons in one line. Earlier too she had talked about her feud with Kim and how it “took her down psychologically”.

Taylor also seems to slam Kim’s 10-year-old daughter North West. She croons,”And so I changed your name, and any real defining clues / And one day, your kid comes home singin’ a song that only us two is gonna know is about you.”

North and Kim share a TikTok together and had earlier danced to Taylor’s 2014 song Shake It Off. Fans have been quick to share their thoughts on social media about the new track.

“Im fkn cryingggg north is gonna blast it everytime shes p****d at kim,” one comment read. Next fan posted, “I hope kim K sees this,” while a third added: “MY JAW DROPPED WHEN I FIGURED IT OUT.”

Kim and Taylor’s fight began when Kim defended her ex-husband Kanye West’s after he wrote obnoxious lyrics about Taylor. In his 2016 song Famous, Kanye rapped, “I feel like me and Taylor Swift might still have sex. Why? I made that b***h famous.”

Taylor expressed dissatisfaction with the track, yet Kanye asserted that he had engaged in an hour-long phone conversation with her regarding the lyrics and insisted she had approved them. Kim swiftly came to her then-spouse’s defense, sharing a video of Kanye’s phone call with Taylor. In the conversation, he seemed to seek permission to incorporate the lyrics.

Taylor seemed to tell, “I know, it’s like a compliment, kind of. Yeah, I mean, what’s dope about the line is it’s very tongue in cheek either way. And I really appreciate you telling me about it, that’s really nice.”

Nevertheless, Taylor maintained that the partial phone call did not represent the entirety of their conversation, and her stance was vindicated in 2020 when the unedited version of her discussion with Kanye surfaced. In 2023, Taylor was honored as TIME magazine’s Person of the Year and candidly discussed the ramifications of Kim and Kanye’s actions on her.

The singer said the long-running fight took her “down psychologically”. “That took me down psychologically to a place I’ve never been before. I moved to a foreign country. I didn’t leave a rental house for a year,” she said. “I was afraid to get on phone calls. I pushed away most people in my life because I didn’t trust anyone anymore. I went down really, really hard,” she added.
