RECENT documents filed in the UK indicate that Prince Harry has formally designated the United States as his primary residence. Sky News reported this update, sourced from filings for the sustainable tourism charity Travalyst, a foundation initiated by Harry. The documents list the Duke under his complete title – Prince Henry Charles Albert David Duke of Sussex.

Since stepping down from their senior royal roles in March 2020, Harry and Meghan have resided in California. In his candid memoir, Spare, released last January, Harry divulged several startling revelations about the royal family, detailing rifts with his relatives, including his brother, the Prince of Wales.

In an interview on James Corden’s The Late Late Show in 2020, Harry elaborated on his decision to distance himself from the Royal Family, citing the detrimental impact of negative media coverage on his mental well-being.

He expressed, “It wasn’t about abandoning. It was about stepping back for the sake of my mental health. The environment was incredibly challenging, as many people observed. We’re all aware of the scrutiny from the British press. It was detrimental to my mental health. I realised this toxicity.”

Regarding a potential invitation from King Charles III to join the Royal Family at Balmoral, royal expert Tom Quinn shared insights suggesting a dilemma for Harry and Meghan. According to a report by Mirror.co.uk, Quinn highlighted the delicate balance between public perception and personal desires, noting Meghan’s purported wish for apologies from other royals, which might complicate their decision.

Quinn suggested, “If the invitation materialises – which appears probable – Harry and Meghan will navigate a sensitive situation. Meghan’s desire for apologies from William, Charles, and Kate could hinder their acceptance. However, she’s also wary of criticism for holding grudges. They may cite the children’s needs as a reason for any apologies or inability to attend.”

King Charles’s invitation to Balmoral is seen as a gesture of reconciliation, aiming to mend familial tensions, particularly between Harry and William. Quinn disclosed, “Sources at Kensington Palace indicate that King Charles has subtly hinted to Harry and Meghan about visiting Balmoral this summer, hoping to address ongoing family discord.”
