Prince William Makes A Promise For Kate Middleton As He Returns To Royal Duties Amid Her Cancer Treatment 

PRINCE William graciously acknowledged the heartfelt messages sent for Kate Middleton and King Charles as he resumed his royal duties on Thursday. The event marked his first public appearance since the Princess of Wales revealed her cancer diagnosis in March.

William showed his appreciation during a visit to a food distribution charity in Sunbury-on-Thames. Volunteers surprised him with cards for his wife, Princess Kate, and his father, the King, who had both postponed public engagements while undergoing cancer treatment.

“Thank you very much, you’re very kind,” Prince William expressed to volunteer Rachel Candappa in a video shared by ITV’s Lizzie Robinson. When Candappa, advised him to take care of his wife, he gently reassured her with a touch on the shoulder and promised, “I will,” as reported by The Telegraph.

Later, during a visit to the Hanworth Centre Hub, Prince William received more well wishes and a bouquet for Princess Kate, emphasising the outpouring of support.

Buckingham Palace had announced King Charles’ diagnosis on February 5, clarifying that it was not prostate cancer but a benign enlarged prostate following treatment in January. Subsequently, on March 22, Princess Kate, 42, disclosed her chemotherapy treatment after post-operative tests confirmed cancer following abdominal surgery in January.

Prince William’s engagement at the food waste initiative marked his return to royal duties after spending time with his family following Princess Kate’s announcement. This time also coincided with a school break for their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. It’s speculated that Princess Kate strategically chose this timing to allow their family private time together without disruptions from school commitments.

Similarly, Prince Charles had cleared his schedule to support his wife during her abdominal surgery in January, ensuring their children’s routines remained as normal as possible.
