WARNER Bros. has finally unveiled the trailer for M Night Shyamalan‘s upcoming thriller, Trap, which features Josh Hartnett, Ariel Donoghue and Saleka Shyamalan in key roles. The film feature Hartnett essay the role of a serial killer at a pop star’s concert.

Trap revolves around a “father and teen daughter attending a pop concert, where they realize they’re at the center of a dark and sinister event”. The movie’s first look was unveiled by Warner Bros. at this year’s CinemaCon earlier this month.

The trailer begins with Hartnett’s character being joined with his daughter, Jody (Donoghue) for Lady Raven’s (Shyamalan’s daughter Saleka) concert. Upon exiting the concert hall, Hartnett encounters groups of federal agents who are searching for a notorious serial killer. The killer is called “The Butcher” by a concession worker, due to his gruesome methods of killing. Next, the trailer reveals Hartnett as the killer who is being hunted for. As he navigates his escape amidst the chaos, the viewers are shown how he has held a hostage captive within the concert venue.

Besides unveiling the trailer, Warner Bros. also dropped the song Release by Saleka as Lady Raven.

Following his move from Universal to Warner Bros., which was announced in August 2023, Trap is Shyamalan’s first movie to hit theaters.

“Where I write and direct is my home,” Shyamalan had said when he made the move. “Disney and Universal, where I’ve made most of my films, will always be home and family to me. Warner Bros. has a storied history of cinema. Through its recent experiences, the company has rediscovered its love and appreciation for filmmakers, and the impact of the theatrical experience. We all win when movies succeed in theaters. I believe David Zaslav, Michael De Luca, and Pam Abdy have dedicated themselves to unique filmmakers, and to filling theaters all around the world for years to come.”
