ONE of the most popular shows in the history of Indian television, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah completed 15 years of being on air. To mark the special occasion, actor Munmun Datta, who plays ‘Babita’ in the show, penned a long note expressing her gratitude.

The actor shared pictures from the sets of the show along with a long caption that read, “Gratitude! Gratitude and only gratitude is what I can express today !. I am so grateful and thankful for the way my life has taken a turn for the better in the past 15 years, grateful for the love that’s showered on me / us by everyone that has seen the show and have made us a part of their lives.”

The actor further added, “Grateful for a wonderful team of colleagues.. actors/ directors/ writers and each and everyone in the entire unit. Asit ji’s relentless pursuit and dedication for achieving one goal after another.”

“This is a result of everyone’s hardwork, time , passion, patience , dedication, determination and everything that can be given in this project. Happiest 15th Birthday Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah,” her note concluded.

Several fans took to the comments section of Munmun’s post to react to the milestone. One user wrote, “I am watching this show from my childhood & always learn something from this show… Thank u so much to the whole @sonytvofficial @sonysab #tarakmehtakaultachashma for this beautiful show.”

Another comment read, “Not just show it’s emotion. Fan since childhood @mmoonstar.”

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s first episode aired on July 28, 2008. The show holds the Guinness World Record for the longest-running Indian daily sitcom on television by episode count.

The show is based on the residents of a housing society help each other find solutions when they face common, real-life challenges and get involved in sticky situations.
