Popular television actor Vaibhavi Upadhyaya passed away in a tragic road accident on Tuesday. The news was confirmed by producer J.D. Majethia, who worked with the actor in several projects.

Taking to his Instagram account, the producer shared the unfortunate news. “Life is so unpredictable. A very fine actress, dear friend Vaibhavi Upadhyaya popularly known as ‘Jasmine’ of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai passed away. She met with an accident in the north. Family will bring her to Mumbai tomorrow morning around 11 am for last rites. RIP Vaibhavi,” read the Instagram story shared by J.D. Majethia.

Co-actor Deven Bhojani, who starred alongside Vaibhavi in several shows, took to his Twitter account to condole the demise of the actor. “Shocking! A very fine actress and a dear friend Vaibhavi Upadhyay, popularly known as “ Jasmine “ of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai passed away. She met with an accident in north a few hours back. Rest in peace Vaibhavi #SarabhaiVsSarabhai ⁦⁦#Hatsoff @sats45 ⁩ ⁦⁦ @TheRupali,” he wrote alongside a picture of the late actor.

Anupamaa star Rupali Ganguly was left shocked with the news. Replying to the tweet by Deven Bhojani, Rupali wrote, “This is not fair ….. gone too soon …..”

Vaibhavi Upadhyaya played the role of ‘Jasmine’ in one of the most comedy shows on television, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. The actor was also seen in the film Chhapaak alongside Deepika Padukone.

The news of Vaibhavi Upadhyaya’s tragic demise comes just a few days after TV actor Aditya Singh Rajput was found dead at his apartment in Andheri, Mumbai on May 22. The details and cause of his death are still awaited.

In her last social media post, Vaibhavi Upadhyaya shared a video of one of vacations in Himachal Pradesh. “Blessed are those who wake up with the purest sounds of nature, breathe clean fresh air, have uncomplicated, tiring but stress free routines, living their simple yet grand lives away from the madness we have come to call ‘the new normal’,” the actor wrote.

“‘Basic’ is the new ‘Luxury’. And on that note I congratulate those who have their perfect sensory and bodily health including myself. It is a reminder to be grateful for the most basic but most crucial gifts of life, OUR HEALTH. Know it, feel it, maintain it, celebrate it. Love and gratitude,” read an excerpt from her long Instagram caption.
