Nicola Coughlan Reveals She Demanded More Nudity In Bridgerton Season 3 To Hit Back At Body-shamers 

DURING the filming of Netlfix’s Bridgerton Season 3, Nicola Coughlan had a specific request: more nudity. In an interview with Stylist magazine released on May 15, the 37-year-old actress, known for her role as Penelope Featherington, also known as the clandestine gossip columnist “Lady Whistledown,” revealed her desire to incorporate nudity into a love scene with her co-star Luke Newton.

“I made certain requests for particular lines and moments to be included,” she explained. “There’s a scene where I’m completely naked on camera, and that was my idea, my decision.”

She described the experience as incredibly empowering, considering it a bold statement against the discourse surrounding her body. “It felt like the ultimate defiance,” she expressed. “I felt radiant in that moment, thinking, ‘When I’m 80, I want to look back on this and remember how stunning I looked!'”
