THE first stills from the upcoming romantic comedy film Red, White and Royal Blue has been unveiled by the makers. Starring Taylor Zakhar Perez And Nicholas Galitzine in the lead roles, the film is based on a popular novel by the same name.

Red, White and Royal Blue is one of the most anticipated films of the year and the gay romance is based on Casey McQuiston’s iconic New York Best Seller of the same name. The novel follows the story of Alex, the son of America’s first female president and his complicated relationship with his royal counterpart. While Taylor Zakhar Perez will star as Alex Claremont-Diaz, Nicholas Galitzine will be essaying the role of Prince Henry.

The ensemble cast of the movie includes Clifton Collins Jr., Sarah Shahi, Rachel Hilson, Stephen Fry, Ellie Bamber, Thomas Flynn, Malcolm Atobrah, Akshay Khanna, Sharon D Clarke, Aneesh Sheth, and Juan Castano.

Fans of the novel couldn’t keep calm and reacted to the new stills from the movie. One user wrote, “It’s a magical scene in the book, and it was a magical night for all of us” …. yeah my tissues are all ready.” “I’M SO READY FOR THEM I CAN’T BREATHE #RWRBMovie,” read another comment.

The official plot of the film read: “Alex Claremont-Diaz (Taylor Zakhar Perez), the son of the President of the United States (Uma Thurman), and Britain’s Prince Henry (Nicholas Galitzine) have a lot in common: Stunning good looks, undeniable charisma, international popularity … and a total disdain for each other.”

It further adds, “Separated by an ocean, their long-running feud hasn’t really been an issue, until a disastrous—and very public—altercation at a royal event becomes tabloid fodder, driving a potential wedge in the U.S./British relations at the worst possible time. Going into damage-control mode, their families and handlers force the two rivals into a staged ‘truce.’”

Giving a twist to Alex and Henry’s story, their icy relationship unexpectedly begins to thaw into a tentative friendship. “The friction that existed between them sparks something deeper than they ever expected. Based on Casey McQuiston’s critically acclaimed New York Times best seller, Red, White & Royal Blue marks the feature film writing and directing debut of Tony Award-winning playwright Matthew López (The Inheritance).”

Red, White And Royal Blue will be released on Prime Video on August 11.
