TRUST Tom Cruise to create a storm at the box office with every new release. The actor’s latest film Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One rocked the global box office with its extended 5 day-weekend and collected over $235 million worldwide.

According to reports, the latest film in the blockbuster action franchise collected an estimated $80 million at the domestic box office, with over $155 million from 70 international markets. The film was released worldwide on July 12, 2023.

Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One stars Tom Cruise in the lead role, with Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Esai Morales, Vanessa Kirby and Pom Klementieff playing pivotal roles.

Tom left no stone unturned to make this actioner more power-packed than any of his earlier releases. The actor was seen performing death-defying stunts for the film; from taking off from a bike and falling from the edge of a cliff to shooting for a fight sequence on a running train.

“At a time when big-budget sequels in mega franchises don’t add up to the anticipation amongst the audiences, Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is the much-needed breather for the box office. Even with the spotlight on Tom Cruise, director Christopher McQuarrie misses no chance to back the megastar with a powerful script and screenplay,” read an excerpt from our review of the film.

The film will be facing a tough time at the box office with two big films up for releases this week. Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer starring Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr. and Matt Damon will be released worldwide on July 21, 2023.

The same day will also mark the release of one the most anticipated films of the year, Greta Gerwig’s Barbie. Starring Margot Robbie in the titular role, the film stars Ryan Gosling as Ken alongside America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Issa Rae, Rhea Perlman, and Will Ferrell.
