JAMES Gunn took to his social media account on Thursday to share the first picture of the cast of the upcoming superhero film, Superman: Legacy. Taking to his Instagram account, Gunn shared the picture, taken after the debut table read for Warner Bros.’ forthcoming superhero epic.

Alongside Gunn and Peter Safran, co-chairs of DC Studios since 2022, the picture features key cast members including David Corenswet as the new Man of Steel, Rachel Brosnahan portraying Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult, who underwent a bald transformation for his role as Lex Luthor.

“In the wake of our #Superman cast’s inaugural table read,” Gunn captioned the image. “Eve, Mr. Terrific, Superman/Clark, Otis, Lex, producer Peter Safran, Jimmy, Metamorpho, Lois, Hawkgirl, myself, Guy, and The Engineer all united for the first time! What an extraordinary day.”

Completing the lineup captured in the group portrait are Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Terence Rosemore as Otis, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, and María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer.

Several users took to the comments section of the picture to react to the cast. One user wrote, “Rooting for you guys @jamesgunn . You guys are going to knock it out of the park.” Another comment read, “You’re the king of ensemble cast action films. I can’t wait to see what you’re putting together!”

Superman: Legacy marks the superhero’s return to solo theatrical outings since Henry Cavill last graced the screen in the iconic red cape. Notably, Cavill introduced his portrayal of the character in Zack Snyder’s 2013 blockbuster, Man of Steel.

Superman: Legacy is slated for a worldwide release in theaters on July 11, 2025.
