RYAN Gosling is set to take center stage as “Kenough” at the 2024 Academy Awards, according to a report by The Hollywood Reporter. Amidst rumors swirling on social media about the Barbie star’s performance of I’m Just Ken, nominated for Best Original Song, The Hollywood Reporter confirms Gosling’s scheduled musical number.

The catchy ballad by Ken made waves on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at No. 87 shortly after the film’s release. Gosling later released an EP in December, featuring three new renditions of the song, including a festive Merry Kristmas version.

Mark Ronson, co-writer of the song alongside Andrew Wyatt, expressed his excitement about the prospect of Gosling’s performance at the Oscars. Ronson shared that the Barbie team has long dreamed of this moment, emphasizing the significance of the song’s potential Oscars debut.

As anticipation builds, there’s speculation about whether other Kens might join Gosling onstage. Ronson enthusiastically entertained the idea, expressing his hopes for a memorable Oscars moment.

I’m Just Ken competes against other hits like Billie Eilish’s What Was I Made For? and songs from films like Flamin’ Hot, American Symphony, and Killers of the Flower Moon.

Despite the buzz, Gosling revealed to Variety earlier this month that he hasn’t received a formal invitation to perform at the Oscars. Nevertheless, he remains open to the opportunity, albeit acknowledging the potential risks involved. Meanwhile, Gosling’s co-star Margot Robbie has been encouraging him to embrace the act if offered the chance, emphasizing the fun it would bring to the ceremony.

Nominated for Best Supporting Actor, Gosling expressed his gratitude for the recognition, particularly for portraying the iconic plastic doll Ken. He also addressed the notable omissions of Robbie and Greta Gerwig from the nominations, recognizing their invaluable contributions to the film’s success.
