AMERICAN rapper Kanye West is getting sued byk photographer Nichol Lechmanik for alleged assault. The photographer held a press conference on Thursday and revealed that she filed a lawsuit against Kanye for leaving her “traumatized and humiliated” following an incident that occurred earlier this year.
The incident took place in January 2023 when Kanye went to attend his daughter North West’s basketball game with wife Bianca Censori. The rapper got agitated on seeing paparazzi tailing him for pictures and ‘angrily confronting’ one photographer on the street.
Video footage showed Kanye angrily going through a photographer’s pockets. Nichol claims that he came after her next. “If I wanna go see my son at a game, You all ain’t gonna run up on me like that. If I say stop… stop with your cameras,” the rapper can be heard saying in the footage. “I know, but Kanye you are a celebrity,” Nichol said while continuing to film.
During the press conference, Nichol said, “He reached into my car as if he were going to hit me, he grabbed my phone out of my hand and then angrily threw it into the street. He caused so much fear that I have not been the same since.”
The footage then showed Kanye reaching into Nichol’s car, grabbing the phone and throwing it to the ground.
Nichol added that Kanye’s behavior caused her so much fear that she has not been the same ever since. “His actions have interfered with my ability to work. Although I am not a world famous artist (like) Ye, I have just as much right to work as he does. He has no right to assault me, batter me or cause me to be afraid to pursue my profession,” Nichol said at the press conference.
The news comes just hours after Kanye West won a 75 million dollar-worth Yeezy funds lawsuit against Adidas. The rapper is yet to respond about the lawsuit by the phtographer.
