Dune: Part Two Box Office Prediction Reveals Zendaya And Timothee Chalamet’s Film Will Make A Blockbuster Debut

WARNER Bros. and Legendary’s Dune: Part Two is doing exceptionally well in theaters. The sequel, which has been directed by Denis Villeneuve and features top actors like Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya, made $12 million in previews on Thursday. This is more than double what the first Dune movie made in previews in 2021. The first movie had a hard time because of the pandemic and because it was also shown on HBO Max at the same time.

The preview earnings include $1 million from an earlier Imax fan event. Overall, it’s the best preview showing since Barbie made $22.3 million in July 2023.

Dune: Part Two is also opening in 71 markets overseas this weekend, and it’s doing well where it opened earlier in the week.

Before the weekend, people thought Dune: Part Two would make $75 million in the U.S., but Warner Bros. thought it would make $65 million. Based on the previews, some people in Hollywood think it could make even more, like $90 million or $100 million.

Theaters are really counting on Dune: Part Two to bring in big audiences after a tough year because of the pandemic and labor strikes. The box office hasn’t been as good as last year or 2019.

Some people were upset when Legendary delayed the movie’s release so that Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya could help promote it. But if Dune: Part Two becomes a big hit, they’ll forget about being upset.

The movie has a great cast, including Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, and Christopher Walken, along with returning stars like Rebecca Ferguson and Javier Bardem.

Director Denis Villeneuve wants to make one more movie called Dune: Messiah, and Warner Bros. has a spinoff series called Dune: Prophecy coming out later this year. The first Dune made over $402 million worldwide, which is pretty good considering the pandemic and streaming release. But the filmmakers hope Dune: Part Two will do even better.
