Sonam Kapoor Shares Pics With David Beckham: ‘Pleasure To Show You Small Taste Of India’

FOOTBALLER David Beckham was recently in India. The legendary sports person was spotted at the India vs New Zealand World Cup 2023 semi-final on Wednesday and posed alongside Bollywood stars including Kiara Advani, Sidharth Malhotra and others. Later in the day, Sonam Kapoor hosted a star-studded bash at her Mumbai home for David with husband Anand Ahuja.

Taking to her social media account, Sonam posted pictures from the bash and wrote, “It was such a pleasure showing you a small taste of India @davidbeckham @davidgardner Hope you loved India as much as India loves you ! Thank you to my team that’s helped me put it together.”

Several social media users took to the comments section of Sonam’s post to react to the images. One user wrote, “One of the most beautiful homes and the best host in town!! Looking stunning as always sonam.” Another comment read, “@sonamkapoor @anandahuja your house is gorgeous. It looks like a beautiful art gallery with masterpieces in every corner.”

Apart from Sonam and Anand, the bash was attended by several Bollywood stars including Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Mira Rajput, Shibani Dandekar, Farhan Akhtar, Karisma Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Arjun Kapoor and others.

David is a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. The International Cricket Council has entered into a partnership with UNICEF to empower women and girls and promote inclusion and gender equality through cricket. Thus, the footballer was in attendance at the World Cup 2023 match in Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Wednesday. He also interacted with Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli during his time on ground.

Speaking to Reuters, David expressed his feelings about visiting India for the first time and said,  “It has been an incredible experience so far. I enjoy the field trips I was in Gujarat, and the people of Gujarat were amazing to me. Going to Gujarat University, meeting young innovators and young kids that were 14-19 years old coming up with incredible inventions that can make change. A 14-year-old young boy came up with an invention that was all about reminding his grandparents to take their medication on time and these things are going to make a huge change.”
