Karan Johar Honored By British Parliament, Says ‘I Am Fortunate And Deeply Grateful’

IT was a special day for filmmaker Karan Johar. On Tuesday, the director unveiled the first teaser of his upcoming film, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani and was also honored at the British Parliament for his contribution to global cinema.

Taking to his social media account, the filmmaker posted pictures from the event and penned a gratitude note. The caption of his Instagram post read, “Today has been SUCH A SPECIAL day! I am fortunate and deeply grateful to be honoured at the British House of Parliament, in London by the esteemed Baroness Verma of Leicester. We celebrated my 25th year as a filmmaker in the film industry and I launched the teaser for #RockyAurRaniKiiPremKahaani too!”

The filmmaker further added, “It’s one of those days where I pinch myself and realise that dreams do come true. Thank you everyone for the unabashed love you have shown me in my journey. And I promise you, there is more to come!”

Meanwhile, the minute-long teaser of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani was shared by Shah Rukh Khan with a heartfelt note for Karan. The note read, “Wow @karanjohar 25 years as a filmmaker. You’ve come a long way baby!! Your father and my friend Tom uncle must be seeing this from heaven and feeling extremely happy and proud.”

He further added, “Have always told you to make more and more films because we need the ethereal magic of love being brought to life… like only u can do. #RockyAurRaniKiiPremKahaani teaser is looking beautiful. Love you and best wishes to the cast and crew.”

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani marks Karan Johar’s 7th directorial. The film will be released as part of the filmmaker’s 25th year in the Hindi film industry and stars Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi and Dharmendra.

The film revolves around the theme of love, perfect and imperfect families and is slated for a worldwide release on July 28, 2023.
