ALIA Bhatt, who has been making waves around the globe, recently attended a global event for luxury brand Gucci in South Korea. The actor also shot for a special video for one of their campaign, where she can be seen talking about ‘gender equality’.

In a video going viral on social media, Alia Bhatt talks about how women should be empowered in order to make the world a better place. “If she is empowered, if she is productive within herself, she will be productive at home for her children, for the community, for the country. That has ripple effects on everyone connected to the woman. My name is Alia Bhatt and I chime with the women in India,” the actor said in the video.

This however, did not go down well with netizens who were left confused with her speech. The clip was shared on a Reddit chain which garnered many comments. “Me in college viva, making absolutely no sense and still thinking that I aced it,” wrote one user.

Another comment read, “Alia reminds me so much of a friend of mine. Not only do they look alike, they sound similar too. The worse part? She thinks she’s an extremely intelligent person. Constantly boasts about herself. Every time I hear her talk, I either find it really funny or extremely draining. Its the same with Alia.”

“So we should empower women not because they have the right but so that they can serve the society and family, nice,” wrote another user. “Take care of children better…🤡 Whoever wrote the script needs to study on the topic more,” read another comment.

Alia Bhatt attended two major global events in May. The actor was named one of the global brand ambassadors of Gucci and was also seen attending the MET Gala 2023.

The actor will next be seen in Karan Johar’s directorial, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani. The film also stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role and is slated for a July 2023 release.
